Alternatives to Traditional VBS
The St Paul Board of Youth and Children's Ministry has decided that, since we cannot confidently say "Yes" to a traditional 5-day, 3 hour, in-person Vacation Bible School, we have reached to point where we must say "No." :-( Because we cannot predict what the requirements for "safe gathering" will be far enough in advance to tool up a full VBS, we are setting it aside for 2020.
We understand that VBS has value for the families of St. Paul and the surrounding community, and we mourn the fact that we cannot produce the program we are accustomed to. St. Paul is blessed with many ways to deliver Gospel Ministry to children and families in education, worship, and fellowship, and so we are left with the question:
"What place does VBS have in the life of our families, and what do they need from us in terms of ministry this summer?"
We know that the church will not crumble without VBS, but we also know that it is our charge to serve the good of the families God has given us.
To that end, we would like to know what you think about summer programming for children and families at St. Paul.
