Law Day is held in early May every year to celebrate the role of law in our society and to cultivate a deeper understanding of the legal profession.  

For the very first time, the San Juan County Bar Association and Skagit Legal Aid will host a Law Day Legal Clinic on Sunday, May 15, 2022 from 9:00am - 3:00pm at the Orcas Center in Eastsound.  

Anyone from San Juan County can meet with an attorney about a variety of civil legal issues, including but not limited to the following:

Housing (Real Property, Landlord/Tenant, Mobile Homes)

Family (Divorce, Parenting Plan, Child or Spousal Support)

Advanced Planning (Powers of Attorneys, Wills, and Estates)

Immigration

Post Conviction Support (Waiving/Reducing Legal Financial Obligations and Vacating Convictions)

Debt (Bankruptcy, Consumer Debt Collection, Small Claims)

General Civil (Non-Criminal) Legal Issues

Any person in San Juan County can meet with an attorney on site or with limited virtual appointments. Pro bono consultations will be limited to 1 hour.  

Two different volunteer shifts are available, 9:00am -12:00pm and 12:00pm - 3:00pm.
