NMSNA School Nurse  of the Year Award Nomination 

Criteria for School Nurse of the Year Award:

1. The Nominee must:

 a) be a registered professional nurse in the State of New Mexico (including public, charter, parochial/private schools)

b) be a current National Association of School Nurses (NASN) member

c) have at least three years experience as a school nurse

d) currently work fulltime as a school nurse.  If the only school nurse position in a community is not full-time, it will be considered full-time for the purpose of this eligibility criteria.

e) spend at least 50% of his/her time providing direct care to students.

2.  Supervisors and administrators who provide direct services to students are eligible.

3.   The Nominee may not be on the NASN board of directors or an officer of NASN at the time of nomination.

4.  The Nominee demonstrates excellence in nursing practice based on the NASN School Nursing Practice Roles and Standards.
