What: NAMI NH CONNECT Online Suicide Prevention Training for Community "Gatekeepers"
Length: Approximately 2 hours, self-paced
Audience: You must live in Carroll County or work with youth in Carroll County to qualify. Connect Community Member (gatekeeper)
Location: Online
Audience: Community members (gatekeepers) come from many walks of life and, whether experienced in suicide prevention or not, can play a role in preventing suicide. A gatekeeper is anyone who may have contact with a person at risk of suicide, especially when associated with youth and other vulnerable populations. When gatekeepers have information on how to recognize the warning signs of suicide and connect with a person at risk to get the person to help, the safety net for everyone is strengthened.
The Connect Online Training Program is a self-paced course that takes about two hours to complete and provides informational and interactive slides that teach participants about risk and protective factors, warning signs, and how to respond to a person at risk for suicide.
COST: This training is made available at no cost to the participant by a Garret Lee Smith Suicide Prevention Grant at NAMI-NH, operated by Carroll County Coalition for Public Health, Granite United Way.
