Members of the Avondale Alliance for Racial Justice have heard from parents at Avondale Elementary School and other drivers that they feel targeted by Avondale police and that they believe our city's ticketing practices are too aggressive. We have also heard complaints about traffic court, that the fine was unreasonably high and that the overwhelming number of Black drivers in traffic court suggested unequal ticketing practices. Your comments will be used to understand the complex issue of citations and to advocate for fair and just ticketing practices in Avondale Estates.
