Thanks for your interest in Little Read Books! We are a Marxist revolutionary socialist/communist community working to build power in the occupied territories of the Cheyenne, Arapaho, and Ute. Beginning as free pop-up book stand at the Colorado Capitol, we evolved into a grassroots organization that provides public-facing radical programming towards the goal of fostering class solidarity in the Front Range. Our members believe that the existence of global capitalism will only continue to result in perpetual war, mass incarceration, environmental collapse, worker exploitation, and any number of systemic injustices. We know a more benevolent future is possible and actively organize to dispel the pervasive lie that capitalism is the "end of history". Our ongoing projects include:

-Reading groups on Marxist political theory, liberation struggles, proletarian feminism, labor history, socialist history, and anything similar that people are interested in leading/attending

-Workshops focused around community care and skill shares

-Movies and documentaries with themes in line with our reading groups

-A community mutual aid bank where comrades pool money into a single pot that anyone can use in emergencies

-Biweekly (every other week) Spanish learning groups

-A monthly group cook to provide meals to unhoused neighbors in Denver

-Anything that aligns with our values and we have the group will to do!

As part of Little Read Books, you are welcome to plug in as much or as little as you are interested in. Though each of our projects has its own specific value, the most important part of what we do is that we're here and organizing for the long haul. The past decade+ has shown us that regular people don't have any power over the trajectory of our lives; History and theory have shown the only way to change that right now is by joining and participating in community level orgs like our own where we're genuinely working out in real-time where to go from here.

Community Building - Creating physical spaces for a radical community to exist in Denver via skillshares, fun events, mutual aid, collaboration with other grassroots organizations

Political Programming - Leading or attending book & film discussions, presentations

Cooking & Distro - Taking recovered ingredients and cooking them/distributing to unhoused neighbors

Spanish Learning - Attending or helping lead a biweekly (every other week) Spanish speaking group for people of all levels (a little Spanish is helpful)

Community Bank - Participants pool together a monthly donation into a single pot where anyone with a dire financial need (car repair, missing rent, minor medical bill, etc.) can withdraw when they need

Administration and Organizing - Having a say in the work and direction of LRB
