EMPLOYEE REGULATIONS
Welcome to the Department of Biology! In order to ensure proper payment and adherence to University guidelines, please
read the following regulations:
• You MUST have a current I9 filed with Student Employment BEFORE you begin work. You will need to go to the Student Employment office in the WSC to update yours. Once you have completed this application, you will need to give the biology office time to process the application so that student employment can complete your I9. Give at least 6 hours after completing this application before you head to the student employment office.
• If you begin working before completing your I-9, you will be subject to a $100 fine.
• You are expected to adhere to the honor code and follow the dress and grooming standards of BYU.
• You must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours during Fall/Winter in order to work on campus.To Work During Spring and Summer you must be taking at least 6 credits in the upcoming Fall semester (you cannot defer graduation just to work without enrolling in classes).
• Students cannot work more than 20 hours per week during Fall/Winter semesters and 40 hours during
Spring/Summer term (with approval from direct supervisor). You cannot work more one week to make up for less the following week.
• All employees are responsible for keeping track of their own hours as well as clocking in/out on the Y-Time system.
• For all minor missed punch corrections that cannot be fixed on your own, please report them to this google form -
https://forms.gle/6ZGer7YFz3HBiEmm6 If more than 25% of your time is from fixed punches, you will be reported to the supervisor and may result in termination.
• Students must make all corrections no later than Monday (by 5PM) following the end of the pay period (see pay period schedule). Any corrections made after the deadline will be corrected on the following paycheck.
• If you have more than one job on campus, it is your responsibility to ensure that your hours are charged to the
correct accounts. You must choose the correct job when clocking in/out.
• You cannot be related to anyone within the administrative scope of the position (supervisor).
• You must enroll in direct deposit through MYBYU-Work - Direct Deposit before the end of your first pay period.
• BYU does not allow campus employees to work on campus and another church employer. You will be terminated if it is found that you work for another LDS employer.
By signing this form, you agree to abide by the employment regulations listed above, including the $100
fine if you begin working and have not yet completed your I9.
