Mia Mélange is growing and we are hiring! Motivated to create jobs in light of South Africa's high unemployment rate, we've grown our production team of talented artisans, and now we need a production / studio manager! We are looking for someone very energetic and enthusiastic to join our family.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

- managing our production team, ensuring the team is productive
- following a schedule of orders that need to be produced
- making sure that products are made timeously and correctly
- adhering to order due-dates
- strict quality controlling of products according to spec sheets and Mia Mélange standards
- packing of completed orders
- creating spec sheets of new products
- managing of all raw materials (rope, thread, etc) to always ensure sufficient stock
- managing of packaging materials
- managing of sewing supplies and sewing machine parts
- assisting with product development from time to time
- training new production staff from time to time
- assisting admin, wholesale and management team with other tasks


REQUIREMENTS:

- a keen interest in design & handcrafting
- ability to take initiative
- strong admin skills
- computer literate (Excel/Sheets, booking couriers, emails, etc)
- good attention to detail (to quality control handcrafted products)
- effective time management

Work hours (40/45 hours/week): 7am to 4pm Monday to Thursday, 7am to 3pm Fridays, 7am to 1pm Saturdays (with the possibility of a half-day off per week; work hours and days to be negotiated).

Successful applicants in the first round will be required to come for an interview. For the second round, we will require applicants to work a trial period of about three days.
