Clarguitar: DIALOGUE (info in order)

THE CLARGUITAR DUO consists of two internationally acclaimed classical musicians, clarinetist Slavko Kovačič and guitarist Žarko Ignjatović. Both have been working in Maribor for almost three decades in various fields, among others, teaching at the Department of Music of the University of Maribor Faculty of Education as well as at the Secondary Music School in Celje. They have given numerous concerts home and abroad. The peak of their collaboration has been the USA tour, performing at American Single Reed Summit in Kirksville, MO, at the NYU Steinhardt and twice in Cambridge, MA.
This album marks the first twelve years of their fruitful collaboration.

SLAVKO KOVAČIČ is one of the most visible Slovenian clarinetists and teachers. He studied at the Ljubljana Academy of Music with Prof. Michael Guznek and Prof. Alojz Zupan, and at the Mozarteum University Salzburg with Prof. Alois Brandhofer. He attended master classes led by Charles Neidich and Alois Brandhofer. He has given concerts in important national and international festivals, collaborating with all Slovenian and numerous foreign symphony orchestras. He is a member of the Slovenian Clarinet Orchestra and a very dedicated chamber musician. He regulary leads schools and workshops for clarinet at home and abroad. He has been invited as a member of the jury in international competitions across the globe. His playing has been released on nine albums. Slavko Kovačič ia a feature artist of Royal Global, Silverstein Works and D’Addario Woodwinds.

Giutarist ŽARKO IGNJATOVIĆ gratuated from the Academy of Music in Zagreb (Croatia) under Prof. Darko Petrinjak in 1983 and from hochschule für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Gratz (Austria) in the class of Prof. Marga Bäuml-Klasinc. He completed his postgraduate studies at the Salzburg Mozarteum under Prof. Eliot Fisk in 1995. He attended numerous master classes all around the world (held by Julian Bream, John Williams, Assad Brothers, etc.). In addition ti giving concerts at home and abrod, he has released two solo albums, two albums with guitarist Jerko Novak, one with cillist Nobojša Bugarski, and, most receantly, in 2020, a digital album with mezzosoprano Barbara Jernejčič Fürst.
