During the course of the school year, photographs or videos of students are taken during the school day and during on- and off-campus events for use in school publications, social media, educational projects, and the school website.

Positive images and messages about RSD help to raise awareness about our school’s important programs and services. They also help to promote our student’s expression, confidence, and creativity, and they generally love seeing themselves represented in the RSD story. These efforts also assist new families seeking to enroll their children in our school, educate school district personnel and members of the media, and also inform the government representatives who legislate funding for RSD.

RSD will use photographs and videos of our students, as well as examples of our students’ classroom work, artwork and participation in school activities, with or without students’ names and their hometowns/school districts, on the Internet/social media, in the school newsletters, event promotions, and yearbook, while maintaining compliance with FERPA and the EdLaw 2d.

Please note that if your student participates in public events (such as a sporting event or drama production that is open to the community) the school may have little or no control over photographs taken by the media or other event attendees.
