We are excited to hear about what our community would like to see from TBD when it comes to clay classes and other offerings. Please help answer some questions that can help us make it happen!

What is your experience with clay?

Never touched it, but I am curious!

I took classes back in school

I took a workshop once

I was a member of a community pottery studio for a little while

I have been working with it for years, and have strong knowledge with mixing glaze, firing kilns, etc

What kind of class are you interested in?

Open Clay Time: Time and space for me/my kid(s) to play and experience clay with less structure

Kids Class: An opportunity for my kid(s) to be creative, learn about and experience clay with guidance and direction, and embrace their inner artist!

Studio Time: I know what I am doing, and just need the space, equipment, and maybe someone who can answer a few questions every now and then.

Night Out: A social space for a small group or couple to enjoy a fun experience in Vallejo...to make something, learn a little, and have fun doing it!

Foundations: I really want to learn the basic foundations of ceramics over multiple sessions.

Therapeutic: A way to experience clay to de-stress, ground, slow down, heal... a soul space.

What kind of structure would best serve you?

I'd like my kiddo to experience and play with clay for an hour on a Saturday

I'd like my kiddo to experience and learn about clay with 1:1 instruction over a number of sessions

I want to have a fun night out making something with my partner/friends/meeting new people

I'd like to play on that pottery wheel thing (don't really care if I ever make something)

I want to learn how to make something on the pottery wheel over a number of weeks

I need space/equipment to use the clay skills I have and maybe get some help here and there

Show me how your studio "works"... then leave me alone :)

Time Commitment

I'm looking for short and sweet... 1-3 hour commitment (weekends only)

I'd love an occasional workshop or class... 1-3 hours (any night, but probably no more than once every couple months)

I want to sign up for a longer term learning experience... 4-6 sessions (weekdays or weekends, depending on schedule)

I'd like to take an intro class, and then have the option of "open studio" times to sign up for

I'm looking for a membership to have access to a studio space

I am interested in a work exchange where I can help manage the clay studio in exchange for the space and time to work on my own stuff

I'd love to participate, but it's not in my budget unless it's free

A scholarship would allow me to join the fun

A sliding scale starting around $20 would make it easier depending on my current budget for the month

A sliding scale is great and I'd be happy to pay on the higher end of the scale to help offset the cost for someone else

$50 - $60 is worth a fun 90-minute class that I end up with something I made

I would like to pay for a package of classes in order to save money per class (and learn more)

I would like to pay a monthly membership for increased access to studio time

I would interested in work trade or bartering for class/studio time
