Beach Naturalist Training Signup
As one of the Foundation’s most successful programs, the Beach Naturalist volunteer program was formally adopted by the park in 2006 with the designation of the Rosario tide pools as an active restoration zone.

Today, thousands of students and park visitors explore the inter-tidal habitats of Rosario under the guidance of trained Beach Naturalists. Volunteers assist park staff by providing important educational stewardship messaging so this delicate and loved ecosystem can be protect for future generations. The Beach Naturalist program is active between May and September when the tides are traditionally low at Rosario and the pools are exposed.

Starting in May, volunteers assist with tide pool field trips and provide informal interpretation on the weekends to park visitors. Once school is out for the summer, and weekly visitation increases, volunteers deliver informal interpretation throughout the week as well as support Discovery Center operations.
