SEE-Math 2022 Student Application Form
After two years online, we are finally back in person.
Students will apply and need a Teacher Recommendation or other form of Certification of Ability.

There will be continuous applications. First acceptances will be made after April 4, 2022.
Later applications may be accepted, if space is available.

Most years we are unable to accommodate students who have done SEE-Math previously.

At the end of this form you will be asked for a method of Certification of Ability which are
1) Participation in the TAMU Math Circle.
2) Identification as a Davidson Scholar or other equivalent recognition of excellent performance on a national Math exam or attendance at a national math camp. - This will require an upload of an appropriate form of documentation.
3) A Teacher Recommendation. - Ask your teacher/counselor/Math Circle leader to complete the Teacher Recommendation Form at http://see-math.math.tamu.edu/2022/ This recommendation must come from someone other than a parent who is acquainted with the student's ability in math and/or science.

A registration fee, $100, will be collected after acceptance. If the fee is a financial hardship, it can be reduced or waived. If the fees are not used during SEE-Math, they will be used for outreach activities during the year or to pay organizers. Additional contributions are welcome.

Financial Hardship
My child is on the School Lunch Plan or the registration fee will be an undue financial hardship. This will have no affect on acceptance into the program. You will be contacted by a camp administrator to give you the reduced fee code for the payment form.

I understand that s/he will be subject to the regulations of Texas A&M University, the Department of Mathematics and the SEE-Math program. I will not hold any of these entities or their staff liable for unforeseen problems based on using the internet or otherwise. The Math Department has my permission to post my child's project and his/her photo identified by only first name and last initial on the SEE-Math web site:  http://see-math.math.tamu.edu/ and in promotional materials.  The Math Department has my permission to include my child's name and my name, address, phone number and email address on a participant list for SEE-Math to be distributed only to other participants.  I understand that I will be required to sign a Liability Waiver Form for my child to participate in the program after being accepted. I understand that should a health emergency arise, I will be notified, but that if I cannot be reached by telephone, such medical treatment as deemed by competent medical personnel is authorized.

Laptop Availability *
We do not know yet if we will use University computers to do Maple. We will be providing a copy of Maple for you to install on your computer so you can work at home. Maple requires Windows, Mac or Linux. It will not work on Chromebooks. We would like to know, if you are asked to bring a laptop to campus, will you have one? If not, we will provide a University computer for in class.This will have no affect on acceptance to the program!
Form of Certification of Ability *
If TAMU Math Circle Participation, you will give the year(s). Gifted Identification includes Davidson Scholar, or other Recognized Math Programs such as MathPath, MathWorks, Epsilon Camp or National Math Exam such as SAT or AMC8 . You will attach or email a certificate. If Teacher/Counselor/Math Circle Leader Recommendation, they will fill out a form.
