The LOFT's Professional Training fees are as follows: $500 (for-profit) up to 90 minutes | $250 (non-profit/edu) up to 90 minutes | $700 (for profit) from 91 minutes to 3 hours | $400 (non-profit/edu) from 91 minutes to 3 hours | Plus additional travel expenses if our staff is required to travel more than 20 miles.

This fee is a donation to The LOFT, and covers expenses related to professional trainings. If you are unable to afford this fee, please contact Sarah Mazzella (she/her) at trainings@loftgaycenter.org to discuss.

The LOFT's Professional Training Program can tailor trainings based on your organization's specific needs. Please indicate which key topics your organization would like to learn more about in your training. If there are other topics or areas of interest that are not listed below, please describe the item on the "other" line. When doing so, please be as specific as possible.

LGBTQ+ Cultural Competency- This training includes an overview of LGBTQ+ terminology, history of the LGBTQ+ community, discussions on intersectionality, and exercises focused on how to create an inclusive work culture/environment

Transgender 101- This training includes a breakdown of terminology used within the transgender, gender non-conforming, and non-binary (TGNCNB) communities, discussion on intersectionality, explanation and practice using common gender neutral pronouns, and best practice techniques around language and creating an inclusive environment for TGNCNB communities

Non-Binary 101- This training includes in-depth discussions on gender, gender norms, terminology used within the TGNCNB communities, historical relevance of non-binary identities, and explanation and practice using common gender neutral pronouns

Becoming an LGBTQ+ Ally- This training includes community building exercises, a breakdown of language and terminology used within the LGBTQ+ community, explanation and practice using common gender neutral pronouns, tips for being an effective ally, and resources

Intimate Partner Violence in LGBTQ+ Relationships- This training includes a discussion on The LOFT's IPV advocate service: Rebuilding Rainbows, current statistics on LGBTQ IPV with an in-depth discussion on the implications, unique stressors, and service access challenges LGBT community members face when faced with family/intimate partner violence

LGBTQ+ Aging- This training includes an overview of LGBTQ+ terminology, discussion on unique aging issues faced by LGBT seniors including current facts and statistics, and action steps professionals can take to affirm the aging LGBTQ+ community

TGNCNB Health- This training includes a breakdown of terminology used within the TGNCNB communities, methods TGNC people "may" take when transitioning, specific health concerns and safety risks for TGNCNB communities, barriers to affirming care and best practices

Creating a Gender Inclusive Workplace- This training includes an overview of gender terminology, and a deep dive into affirming workplace culture and policy for TGNCNB communities

Understanding Pronouns Workshop- This training includes a breakdown of the history and implications of gendered language and norms, as well as a close look into the how's & why's of using gender-inclusive pronouns and language
