Toronto Chamber Consort Evening 2020: The Language of Love

Please arrive at Heliconian Hall (35 Hazelton Avenue) at 7:30 pm to enjoy refreshments and conversation. Shortly after 8:00 pm, Lucas Harris and select members of the Toronto Chamber Consort will offer an intimate recital of "airs du cour," French courtly airs with lute or theorbo accompaniment. Cool aesthetic classicism mixes with tender emotion as the young Consort singers transform Heliconian Hall into an elegant Parisian salon. Lucas Harris will also give a sneak preview of programming for the 2020-21 season.
Our special guest, Professor Luke Arneson of York University’s French department, will offer a short presentation about seventeenth-century salon culture.
We do hope you can join us.
