Become a video editor for our docuseries!
This is the signup form to volunteer as a video editor for the Umwe Africa COVID-19 docuseries. We are looking for volunteers who have past experience producing informative media experiences.
Our goal is to produce a series with 5-9 episodes (15-30 minutes long) as well as up to 5 minutes of shorter promotional videos for each episode. Each episode covers a research topic for which our collaborating researchers will provide a production-ready script and voiceover.
We are currently still in the process of fundraising U$2,000 to compensate each Video Editor as their financial compensation for the period 1 June 2020 - 23 August 2020. We are working diligently to meet this goal so we are able to compensate you for your potential commitment.
It may be that your university/college can pay you to intern with us. Please see if that is possible if you would love to join the team but need compensation.
Video editors will be the backbone of this project. We are looking for 3 full-time video editors able to work up to 45-hours per week on this project. Video editors will only commence working with us from the 1 June 2020 as we wait for the research and scriptwriting processes to conclude.
Your tasks:
- You will be responsible for turning a script + recorded voice narration into a visually engaging video experience.
- Produce up to three, 5-15 minute episode for a researched topic/subject.
- Produce up to 5 minutes of promotional and shorter videos for our social media channels for each episode.
- Source B-roll and footage for each episode.
- Facilitate and ensure the successful recording of high-quality video interviews - conducted by research collaborators.
This is a commitment from 1 June to 23 August 2020.
