As part of our plan to encourage a wider range of swimmers we are re-introducing swimming lessons in 2025.
Lessons will be held at the King Alfred Swimming Pool on Saturdays between 17.00 and 18.00 commencing Saturday 1st February 2025.
The intake for lessons will be staggered during the months of February and March.A dedicated lane will be reserved for the lessons which will have a designated Swimming Coach.
Lessons will be held for 4 to 6 swimmers (numbers subject to ability).
We would require each person who wishes to join lessons to be able to swim 50m (2 lengths) regardless of stroke, being comfortable out of your depth (i.e. swimming in the deep end) and able to tread water.
The aim of the lessons is:
To provide individuals confidence in the water
To understand and learn the keystrokes including Freestyle (Front Crawl), Breaststroke, Backstroke and Butterfly
To qualify for lessons and achieve promotion to the main club swimming and the ability to join the mid-week swimming sessions
The cost for lessons will be:
Membership of Swim England for which the ASA swim fees must be paid which is currently £17.00 per annum.
Payment of the full membership direct debit which will be £51.45 per month in 2025.
If your unable to join this course, but would like to be considered for later courses, please complete the form.
