VALIDATION
Applications MUST include skipper AND crew to be valid.

Sailors may submit applications for multiple fleets in a particular regatta, where eligible (e.g., for both Open fleet and U17 Open fleet). If a sailor's first choice is not available during the selection process (because that fleet is full), they will be offered an invitation for a spot in their second choice.

All sailors must be active US Class members in order to be offered an invitation. Qualification points can only be earned by active US Class members. US Class membership information is available at www.usi420.org

COSTS
For Worlds an initial deposit of $1,000 (per boat, not per sailor), MAY be required to secure a spot at the time of acceptance of your invitation (but not with the submission of this application). For Jr. Euros the deposit may be $500. Estimated total costs for each regatta will be included in the invitation extended to sailors. For reference, the costs for 2021 Worlds was ~$6k/boat (based on 17 teams and 4 coaches), and for Jr. Euros was ~$3,500/boat (based on 6 teams and 1 coach).

The Team USA fee includes coaching for the regatta including 6 days of racing, 4 days of measurement, and 5-7 days of pre-regatta training at the venue (a total of approx. 15-17 days). The fee covers the cost for coaches: travel, room and board, coach boat, and Team USA uniform (shirt, pinnie).

Sailors are responsible for their own costs for their 420 boat charter, transportation, food and lodging for themselves and their parent/chaperone(s). Additional/optional Team USA uniform/gear will also be available for purchase.

REGATTA REGISTRATION
Worlds and Jr. Euros are not open regattas - sailors are required to qualify thru their home country class association, which then registers the sailors as a team. The US I420 Class manages this process and the Team, including all coaches. Private coaching is not permitted.
