INFORMED CONSENT FORM
Dear Participants,
Thank you for your interest in this study. To participate in this study, you must be (i) between the ages of 18 to 25 years old, (ii) Malaysian, (iii) currently an undergraduate student, and (iv) currently living with both parents.
About the study:
This study aims to investigate the relationship between types of parenting style and academic achievement among Malaysian undergraduate students.
What will take place:
If you decide to participate in this study, you will be required to fill in a demographic form, report your current Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA), and fill in the Parental Authority Questionnaire (PAQ). This survey will take approximately 30 minutes to complete.
Risks/discomfort arising from participation:
Apart from minor fatigue, no notable physiological or psychological stress is anticipated from your participation in this study. However, should you experience any discomfort or distress during or after the current study, you may contact Befrienders at 04-281 5161 (Penang) / 03-7956 8144 (Kuala Lumpur) or reach them at their address: Mewah Court, Block 104-1A, Jalan Tan Sri Teh Ewe Lim, Pulau Pinang, 11600 (Penang) / 95 Templer, 46000 Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur) for mental health support.
Benefits of the study:
Although there will be no compensation and direct benefit to your participation, your responses will greatly help in widening the current knowledge regarding The Relationship between Types of Parenting Style and Academic Achievement among Malaysian Undergraduate Students.
Confidentiality:
Your participation in this study is confidential. All information gathered from this study will remain confidential and anonymous. No individual identities will be used in any reports resulting from the study.
Decision to terminate participation:
Your participation in this study is voluntary. Refusal to participate will incur no penalty. If at any time for any reason, you wish to terminate your participation from this study, you may do so by not answering any further questions and closing the survey page.
