SQCO Level 2  L2/23_1 commencing Jan 2023
SQCO L2 is an SQA accredited coaching qualification (SCQF L7) for experienced orienteering coaches who have previously attained a L1 qualification or completed the L1 RPL. Blending theory and practical in interactive tutor led sessions, this course builds on the skills acquired at L1 to equip the coach to lead a small team of coaches and work at progressing skills over a series of coaching sessions.
The Level 2 course requires some 80 hours time commitment, consisting of independent learning and written tasks before and after the 1.5 days tuition element; a series of logged and self evaluated sessions supported by a mentor and a final practical assessment when all other tasks have been completed.
Learners have up to 2 years from the start of tuition to complete the qualification. By submitting this application, you undertake to endeavour to attend all tutor led sessions and meet deadlines agreed with mentors and assessors.
The first online session will be early/mid January during which other dates will be arranged by mutual agreement with tutors and learners.
The cost of courses is usually covered by clubs in conjunction with grants from local sports councils and sportscotland subsidies which are now administered by SOA.
