Jeff Monahan - The Acting Workshop Intensive Fall 2023
Thank you for registering for a workshop with WQED Filmmakers!

The Acting Workshop Intensive is a one day, four hour program taking place Saturday, December 2nd from 11:00am-3:00pm, in-person at WQED Multimedia (4802 Fifth Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15213).

The first hour will focus on acting technique- participants will learn a simple, comprehensive acting approach that can be used to prepare for roles in theater and film.

The second hour will focus on monologues- bring a monologue to perform, and receive feedback and coaching for future auditions.

The third hour will focus on cold reading. You and a partner will be paired up and given a limited time to prepare and present a two-person scene to be directed and critiqued.

Finally, the fourth hour will focus on the behind the scenes of the acting world, consisting of a Q&A discussion of the business, including stage vs film, actor types (we'll help you choose yours),  headshots, resumes, reels, websites, agents, managers, casting directors, and markets. We'll also cover how to create your own projects for film and theater.
