Registration: Eco-anxiety Workshop
Date: Thursday 5th November 2020
Time: 17:00 (CET - Central European Time)
Duration: 1 hour
Place: Zoom (we will send out a link via email)

Do you ever worry about the environmental impact of the produce you buy, the plastic you consume or the fast fashion companies you support, only to wonder if making the sustainable choice even makes a difference anymore? The sense of dread, gloom and hopelessness in the face of the current climate and ecological crisis has been coined eco- anxiety.
The physical impact of climate change is impossible to ignore, but of increasing concern is the less obvious consequence – the strain it is putting on people’s mental wellbeing.

The Swedish Organization for Global Health (SOGH) is excited to bring this eco-anxiety workshop from London to Stockholm. Participate in our online workshop to learn how to better tackle climate anxiety by turning it into constructive action.
The workshop will explore our emotional reaction to these planetary crises and will discuss two of the best solutions to eco-anxiety - community and action. In this workshop we will build community, hear people’s journey from anxiety to empowerment, talk about mental health resources and provide tangible ways to take meaningful action.
As climate activist Courtney Howard puts it, "Action feels better than anxiety. I don't worry anymore - I just do the work."

Everyone is welcome to sign up but spots are limited.

Speakers:

Our two speakers come from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM)
Viola Graef is a master's student of Public Health interested in the ways vulnerable groups experience and adapt to changing environments.
Nina Finley is a master's student of One Health. She has worked as a disease ecologist in 11 countries and researches ecological solutions to human health problems.

We at Swedish Organization for Global Health (SOGH) feel excited to bring this e-workshop virtually to Stockholm!
