Eucharistic Minister (Assist the Priest in the distribution of the Body and Blood of Christ during Holy Communion. Training provided.)

Communion to the Sick (Police vetting is necessary. Join the group who takes Hoy Communion to those who are sick at home, or in a rest home.)

Lay Presider: Word & Communion (Be trained to lead the Liturgy of the Word with Holy Communion during the week. This happens when a Priest is not available.)

Minister of the Word: Proclaimer (Proclaimers are called to proclaim the Word of God at mass. Bringing God's message to the congregation through the readings. Training provided.)

Leader (Welcome the congregation, say the Prayers of the Faithful, and announce any notices at the end of the Mass.)

Children’s Liturgy Leader (Police vetting is necessary. Can you help on a Sunday to lead children's liturgy 5 years to Yr 8 level. If under 5 yrs old parent/guardian should attend with their child. The children will reflect on a special Liturgy in the hall on the Gospel story of the day. Resources are available.)

Offertory Procession (Take up the gifts to the altar.)

Collectors (Do the collection and take up to the altar with the offertory procession.)

Sacristan (Prepare the Church for Mass, setting in place what is required on and around the altar and ensure all those who are on a Ministry are present. Open and lock church and the gate. Training provided.)

Altar Server (Learn about the Mass and serve with our Priest. If you have received your First Holy Communion you can become an Altar Server. Training provided.)

Musician & Singer (Do you sing or play a musical instrument and want to share this talent to help lead the congregation?)

Data Projector and Sound desk (Learn to operate the powerpoint presentation for Masses, to help everyone participate more fully with the words for prayers and music displayed. Training provided.)

Greeters (Greet people at the door with a smile of welcome as they arrive for Mass, and hand out the newsletter.)

Sunday Morning Tea (Set up prior to Mass, make and serve tea and coffee from the kitchen in the foyer and clean up after. Usually finish around 11:30am.)

Visitation/Welcomer (Police vetting is necessary. For the housebound or to assist a new parishioner.)

Bereavement Support (Supporting a person deep in grief, the art of listening, support a family as they prepare a funeral service.)

Parish Liturgy Team (This group is responsible for the planning of Liturgies for Sunday & special occasions.)

Stewardship Team (Our Lady of the Rosary used to have a Parish Pastoral Council. When the Parishes merged to become Te Wairua Tapu (Holy Spirit) Parish, the Parish Pastoral Council moved up a level, and each church now has a Stewardship Team.)

Order of Christian Initiation for Adult (OCIA) (The adult programme to help people join the Church. Resources available. Training Provided.)

Parish Youth Group ("Dear young people, my joyful hope is to see you keep running the race before you, outstripping all those who are slow or fearful. Keep running...The Church needs your momentum, you intuitions, your faith. We need them! And when you arrive where we have not yet reached, have the patience to wait for us". Pope Francis, Christus Vivit 299. These are some ways you can get involved: Spirited youth: share music and singing at jam sessions and lead a Sunday mass. Life Teen Petone: Sundays fortnightly, 5:30pm-8pm. Sacred Heart Church Petone.)

St. Vincent de Paul Group (Main focus is providing assistance to anyone in need, visiting the sick and those at home alone. Managing the Food Bank and bread deliveries. Be the first to contact families who have lost a loved one.)

Men’s Group (Building genuine friendships with one another and living their faith together. To pray together and encourage each other to be the spiritual leaders of their families. To help out with the church building maintenance.)

Prayers of the Faithful (Prepare the Prayers of the Faithful for the weekend. This is a parish roster. Our church prepares them three months of the year.)

Altar Linen Society (Wash and iron altar cloths and corporals after the Mass. Usually rostered on for one month at a time.)

Lawn Maintenance (Lawn mow, weeding and tidying around the presbytery and church. Monthly roster.)

IT support (Maintaining the Parish website, etc.)
