As a non-profit community land trust, HALE O HAWAI'I owns the land under the homes we build, while buyers purchase our homes and any abrove ground improvements. Homebuyers get exclusive use of the property and their home through a 99-year renewable ground lease — without the cost of the land. Homeownership with HALE O HAWAI'I results in big savings and a truly affordable mortgage for our homebuyers.

STEP 1. Complete and submit the information requested on the form below.
STEP 2. Meet with HALE O HAWAII staff to learn the details regarding this homeownership possibility and to discuss the ground lease, our resale formula and homebuyer policy.
STEP 3. HALE O HAWAII will work with potential home buyers to find suitable lenders and obtain pre-qualification for a mortgage at the lowest possible rate.
If required, the homebuyer must attend a HUD-approved financial education workshop at no cost to the homebuyer.
