Baltic Trail is a gathering for electronic music producers and musicians - a creative camp and a mini showcase festival. Main goals of the gathering are: to unite movements of forward-thinking music creators within Baltics, to provide a platform for audio-visual collaboration, as well as knowledge sharing and networking. In this year's edition of the gathering we want to add a visual dimension to the music created during the camp, so in collaboration with project "Future DiverCities - Creativity in an Urban Context" we invite video-multimedia artists to join our groups of musicians for a creative week in September.
APPLICATION DEADLINE: July 31
The gathering will take place from the 20th till the 29th of September in Liepaja, Latvia. It calls for 12 musicians from the Baltic States - 4 from each country, and 3 video and multimedia artists to work in pop-up studios set up in different locations around Liepaja. During this week participants will split into 4 groups and produce 20 to 30-minute audiovisual performances. Three of the groups will work on stereo sound performances, but one group will prepare an immersive spatial audio experience.
These collaborations will be presented in public showcase concerts, allowing a wider audience to experience performances created during this intense working week. Closing Night concert will be a part of the Liepāja Art Forum 2019.
