第一個練習為生活器具，由一方木板開始。在雕刻木碟的過程，同學將會學習到：
At this stage, we will begin with making a Wooden Plate from a piece of wood.

・認識木材，木雕及工作室介紹 Introduction about wood, wood carving and our studio.
・工具簡介及正確運用：木工夾、線鋸、木鎚、雕刻刀、磨紙等 Tools usage and their safety.
・護具簡介、運用及工作室安全守則 Protective gears and safety during the workshop.
・練習雕刻刀的握力、角度及力度對雕痕的影響 Learning the grips, power and carving angles through practicing.
・教授技法包括：裝線鋸，以線鋸鋸曲線、木工夾運用、東陽刀簡介，打胚及修光、認識雕刻基本，凹與凸的概念、沙磨、木食器上油及保養 Brief introduction of carving traditions of China and some of its' carving techniques, as well as exploring of concave and convex forms, and things about sanding and coating for a better finished woodwork.

從初嘗雕刻木碟的過程，同學已掌握一些工具使用及有了雕刻體驗。Stage 2 將會製作立體動物，我們將以經典的瑞典木馬為學習題材，同學將會學習到：
Next stage, we will explore the world of 3D wooden sculpture. We will start from making a simple Swedish Dala Horse which is perfect for practising.

・動物立體概念及起稿方法 Learn how to understand and illustrate a 3D structure.
・鞏固第一階段教授的手工具運用，並以此為基礎，作不同情況及效果的運用方法，手板鋸使用 Learn how to use hand saw and keep practising carving techniques
・教授技法包括：克服木紋順逆，立體作品的順逆紋了解及練習、立體木雕減法、刀刻感處理 Understanding and experiencing wood grains and carving directions on wood.

同學有一套刀具在手，雕刻刀必定會有磨損的時候，我們要懂得保養刀具方可令雕刻刀保持最佳狀態，事半功倍。磨刀是做木雕專業及重要的一環，希望同學可自己保養自己的雕刻刀，我們會分享磨刀知識及進行磨刀練習。 Carving knife sharpening is the most essential in wood carving. As a wood carver/wood sculptor, you need to keep your tools as sharp as possible in order to produce great works. You will learn the basics and fun of sharpening through this course.

第三件作品將會臨摹傅統面具，木雕擁有說不完的歷史故事，不同文化下的面具都有精煉設計及特殊意義。同學可以在我們提供的面具樣式中款其中一款，透過臨摹傅統面具認識木雕文化及木雕技巧。同學將會學習到：
With your sharpen tools now, your final work of this course will be making a wooden mask. We have a bunch of selection and you will make a replication of the one that you pick. Through wooden mask making, we will come across the tradition and history behind it too.

・畫稿及油土捏塑 Learn how to create a clay model before sculpting on wood
・木材選擇，開料方法及結構處理，一般開料部分會由導師經由機器操作處理 Wood type selection, how to start from a wood block
・面具雕刻技法及刀刻感處理 Detailed carving techniques.
・表面處理 Surface finishing

・適合對繪畫、藝術、雕塑、木藝、工藝等有濃厚興趣，具備相關基礎
・Suitable for participants who have strong interest in drawing, art, sculpture, woodcrafts, hand-made as well as experienced craftsmen.

・歡迎沒有相關經驗者
・Welcome participants with less experience in crafts.

・木碟尺寸為直徑15cm  Wood Plate 15cm diameter
・木馬尺寸為12cm高  Dala Horse 12cm height
・面具尺寸為不大於  20cm x 20cm x 7cm Mask not larger than 20cm x 20cm x 7cm
，課程所需木料已包  All materials are included.

・做木雕需要氣力，記得吃飽才上課喔。 You need energy for woodworking, feed yourself before work started;
・工作室有飲水機，可帶備水樽裝水。 Water dispenser is ready in our studio or bring your own bottle of water;
・課室有大大小小不同工具和刀具，請不要穿拖鞋。 No flip-flops at workplace;
・我們如需要可提供護目鏡、手套及圍裙。 We will provide goggles, gloves and robe when needed.
・學員請愛惜工具，使用後需自行放回原處。 Please always return borrowed tools and keep the workplace tidy;
・做木作具有一定危險性，我們會指導正確及安全的工具運用技巧及提供防護工具，但課程不包含保險，學員請跟從指示及自行評估風險與能力。 Every work has its own risk. Even though we would introduce every hand tools before you could manage them, we could not 100% ensure your personal safety. Insurance for accident is not included in this program. Be careful at all times;
・如上課前2小時仍掛8號或以上風球及黑色暴雨，課堂將改期，學費恕不能退回。 If Typhoon No.8 and Black rainstorm warning hoisted 2 hours before lessons, changes will be announced after rearrangements without refund;
・如學員因事故需改期，請於最少3天前告之，我們可安排改期（同一個階段的其他班別），否則有可能無法改期，恕未能退款。
・15節課程後的學員，可租用工作室空間把作品繼續完成，
租用工作室包括所需工具，以及有需要時導師在場協助。
每四節(每節三小時)費用為 HK$1,440。 Upon completion of “15-lesson Wood Carving Programme - Beginner”, if  you have yet finished the project but wish to continue until finish, the rental fee of every 4 lessons will be $1440 (3hrs/lesson).
