The PAL Peer Assistance and Leadership class trains students in the skills they need to work with their fellow students and in the community with academic and/or personal issues. Some of the qualities we are seeking in the candidates are:
• Concern for the welfare of others
• Ability to listen to others
• Self-confidence
• Dependability
• Honesty
• Potential for leadership
• Ability to work with a minimum of supervision
• Initiative
• Open-mindedness
We recognize that the PAL peer helping course is looking for a cross-section of students who have the desire (or at least the capacity) to be helpful; who can be good listeners; and, most importantly, are trusted by other students. As a teacher who's been selected we ask that you answer the following questions and help us better get to know the applicants.
