Van ISD Education Foundation                Future Teachers of Van Scholarship                                      
Due April 7, 2023                                                                                                                                        

 APPLICANT POOL: Any graduating senior from Van High School who has attended Van High School for at least two years and meets all state and local graduation requirements.

GENERAL OVERVIEW: This scholarship may be awarded to any student who is enrolling in post-secondary
education and planning to enter the field of education. He or she should demonstrate financial need and have
the ability to complete the proposed course of study.

NUMBER OF SCHOLARSHIPS AWARDED: The number of scholarships may vary yearly based on the total funds
available, divided by $1000.

AMOUNT AWARDED: One time $1000 grant per recipient

SELECTION PROCESS: All required information must be received by Annie Byrd at
annie.byrd@vanisd.org no later than April 7, 2023. The Van ISD Education Foundation Scholarship
Selection Committee will choose the recipient(s) from eligible applications.

PAYMENT TO RECIPIENT: Announcement of these awards will be made at the annual Van High School Senior
Night. Payment will be made to each individual student after proof of enrollment is sent to the foundation,
along with a copy of the recipient’s thank you note to the donor.

OTHER CONSIDERATIONS: This scholarship program requires an average academic grade of at least 80. The
applicant should be a responsible student who exhibits good citizenship and reflects the goals of the foundation.

The applicant’s essay should include a statement pertaining to how the applicant feels that receiving this
scholarship would help him or her become a successful educator.
