The mission of the Puente Project is to increase the number of educationally underserved students who enroll in four-year colleges and universities, earn degrees, and return to the community as leaders and mentors to future generations.
The Puente program is located at Mission Center, 1125 Valencia St, San Francisco, CA 94110.
Students complete a two-course English sequence (ENGL 1A+1AS in fall semester & ENGL 1B in spring) with a focus on Latinx and multicultural authors. In the fall semester, they also take a counseling course (AAPS 103) focused on college success, transfer preparation, and career exploration.
Throughout the year, students receive academic support from dedicated Puente counselor, participate in educational and cultural field trips, and receive one-on-one mentoring from members of the professional community. Puente is open to all students who are eligible for English 1A and 1A+AS.
We are excited that you may be interested in joining the program. Please complete this intake form, and Puente counselor Adriana Rivera will reach out to you with more information. Answering these questions is voluntary, and information will remain confidential.
