St John’s Church of England Primary School are consulting on the proposed admission arrangements for 2023/24. As an own admission authority school, we consult directly with our own families and the local community. The consultation commences on Monday 1st November 2021 and will end on 12th December 2021. The results will be published to our website shortly thereafter and will be taken into consideration when determining our admissions arrangements for 2023/24.
The proposals are outlined below:
To change how we deal with the banding of applications from Children of the Christian Faith and Community spaces so that it will encompass both initial allocation and the subsequent continuing interest. Clarification of how we will deal with Supplementary Information Forms (SIF) received after applications have been ranked.
Clarification of the sibling rule.
To amend the definition and explanation for home address, where a child lives at two addresses equally.
To clarify whether unsuccessful applications are automatically placed on the waiting list/continuing interest lists.
To change the automatic right for summer born children to apply in the year following their 5th birthday to conform with the Schools Code that these decisions should be made on a case by case basis based upon the needs of the child
To clarify the process for waiting lists
To clarify how the school deals with fraudulent applications
To clarify the process for children applying from overseas
