Dear Student,
Thank you for expressing an interest in becoming a DAPA! DAPAs are health opinion leaders who serve as resources to their peers, liaisons to their Dorm and House Communities, and ambassadors for the Office of Alcohol & Other Drug Services. To become a certified DAPA, students are required to participate in 24 hours of training to gather extensive information on alcohol and other drug issues.

DAPA Training is scheduled to take place over the first weekend of the Spring Term: Saturday, January 25, 2020 (9AM-4PM) and Sunday, January 26, 2020 (9AM-4PM) and then one night weekly for the first 4 weeks of the term: Tuesdays 1/28, 2/4, 2/11 and 2/18 (6PM-9PM).  DAPAs are also expected to attend a retreat before giving Wellbeing Workshops to first years during Opening Days.

The application deadline is Sunday, November 3rd, 2019, at 11:59PM.  All responses will be kept confidential and reviewed only by the DAPA Selection Committee. First round of applications will be read name-blind.

In addition, you may have a peer submit an optional letter of support on your behalf that explains why you would make a good candidate for the DAPA Program. It can cite specific examples that show that you reflect DAPA's mission and highlights your reliability, accountability, and leadership qualities. Letters of support can be submitted through the website at www.harvarddapa.org/apply before the application deadline on Friday, November 1st, 2019, at 11:59PM.

You may be contacted for an interview as a final component of your candidacy. Interviews will take place from November 12 to November 18. We look forward to reviewing your application!

Sincerely,
The DAPA Selection Committee
