The 4 Pillars of National Honor Society
As a member of NHS, you will be representing the 4 pillars of NHS: Scholarship, Service, Leadership and Character. As an applicant, we are looking to see to what extent you already represent these pillars. The next sections of this application will demonstrate your strengths in each area.
Scholarship: List your current Grade Point Average (GPA). This can be found in your Profile on Naviance. *
Service: List up to 5 examples of service or volunteering you have completed since the summer of 2019. Use this format: #, Service description, date of service, list the total number of hours for that example. Example: 1) Helping at a park clean up in April 2020 for a total of 4 hours.
Leadership: List up to 5 examples of formal or informal leadership that you have held since the summer of 2019. Leadership roles can be in the community or in school (team captain, activity officer, work related leadership, family leadership roles, student government, committee member, etc...). Use this format: #, Leadership role, where and when. Example: 1) Shift manager at Burger King since May 2021.
Character: One more pillar of National Honor Society is Character (the moral and intellectual qualities unique to an individual).

Steve Maraboli said "The truth of your character is expressed through the choice of your actions."

First, explain how choices reveal the truth of someone's character.
Second, give at least one example that personally connects this definition of character to your life.
