Young Urbanists is excited to announce a Waste, Recycling, Sanitation & Energy Technology Innovation Hackathon available to all enrolled students at any South African university or alumni from the last academic year. Submissions on innovations/concepts will be accepted until the 15th of September 2022. Our sponsors will provide cash prizes of:

1st: R25,000
2nd: 15,000
3rd: 10,000  

Mentorship, travel and co-workspace sponsorship for all winners, for 3 months will also be provided.

The hackathon is based on urban waste management, recycling, and waste recovery innovations with a specific focus on tangible technologies and infrastructure. Think low-cost, replicable and easy to manufacture.
