Hello! Welcome to the Gender + Sexuality Resource Center's library feedback form. Here, you can provide information about the books we have, or let us know what kind of books you would like to see in the future!
Cataloging takes a lot of work, and our librarian cannot possibly read all of the books. If you think there is information missing from the catalog that would be helpful, please let us know below! For instance, you might notice that an important subject tag is missing from a book. Subject tags make it easier for other users to search for topic-specific books. These subject tags might describe an identity (eg. "autism", "trans men", "Ojibwe/Anishinaabe"), experiences (eg. "coming out", "pregnancy", "immigration"), or genre (eg. "horror", "high fantasy", "coming-of-age"). You are welcome to let us know if you think a book should have a certain tag that it does not already have.
Other missing information might include
content warnings. Some of our books deal with heavy topics; other books are really old, and might use outdated language. Content warnings help people know what to expect when they read a book. Some of our books deal with heavy topics; other books are really old, and might use outdated language. If a specific warning only occurs over a certain page rage, please feel free to indicate that by including the page numbers alongside a description of the content (eg. "intrusive thoughts: pg. 96-104, 178-179"). If it occurs over the whole text, feel free to just list the content. For examples of content warnings and advice over how to indicate potentially harmful content, check out this website.
If you are recommending a book, please provide as much information as possible about the book so we can make an informed decision. We have budget and spacial limitations when buying books, so we want to make sure the book being recomended will be a beneficial addition to our community library before adding it. When possible, please include the title and author. Other helpful information includes ISBN or a little bit of information about the book (for instance, subject tags as described above). The next time we buy books, we will review recomendations and use them to inform our acquisitions. Please feel free to recomend multiple books in a single submission.
Finally, if you have lost a book, that's okay! You're not in trouble! Because our books are an important community resource, we want to make sure any books that go missing are removed from the catalog and put on a list for future acquisition. In order to make this happen, we would really appreciate if you would tell us if a book you borrowed has gone missing.
If you have miscellaneous questions or feedback, you can leave that below as well! Thank you for helping us build the best possible library!
