FOSC Earth Day 2023
Come celebrate Earth Day by helping us protect native habitat along Sausal Creek! We have a variety of events happening across the watershed this weekend, and we're excited for you to join us!

Saturday, April 22
  • Beaconsfield Canyon 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. - Help us create a firesafe community around Beaconsfield Canyon! We will be clearing brush from winter storms, pulling invasive species, and clearing trails. Meet at the Beaconsfield Canyon Trailhead. We are looking for 20 volunteers ages 16+.
  • Dimond Park & Canyon 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. - Help us create a healthy ecosystem in Dimond Park and Canyon! We will be cleaning up the creek, beautifying the park, pulling up invasive species, and working on erosion control projects. Meet at the Scout Hut. We are looking for volunteers of all ages, but this site will be most accessible for young watershed stewards as well!
  • Jingletown 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. - Come clean up and beautify this native plant garden in the historic Jingletown Warehouse District that highlights the section of Sausal Creek flowing underground. Meet at the mosaic mural created by local artists and students. We are looking for 50 volunteers of all ages.
  • Josie de la Cruz Park 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. - Help Carmen Flores Recreation Center staff and neighbors beautify the park with a focus on the community garden. We are looking for volunteers of all ages.
  • Wood Park 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. - Join Wood Park neighbors for a clean up and restoration day, removing invasive species, pruning, and clearing brush from winter storms. We are looking for volunteers of all ages.
