Louisville Food Tours is a tour company that runs walking food and history tours in Louisville, KY. We tell the complex story of Louisville and Kentucky through the lens of its cuisine, one bite at a time.

We are looking for passionate, energetic, and outgoing people to lead our walking food tours. Do you get excited about history? Are you passionate about food? Do you enjoy the nuances and notes of a particularly good glass of beer or bourbon? Do you love to tell funny anecdotes, stories and jokes? Are you the type of person always looking for a stage and an audience (lookin’ at you, actors!)? Are you comfortable guiding and shepherding groups of people (teachers, we know you’re amazing at this!)? Then this is the job for you!

Job Duties: - Memorize our tour script (some personalization is welcome) - Prepare your bag of supplies (checklist and supplies are provided) - Guide guests of about 12 along a 1.5 mile tour route as you tell stories tying together Louisville's food and history

- Communicate with restaurants and be a great brand ambassador to our restaurant partners

- Guide guests through sampling food and drink at each stop - Make sure our guests are safe, entertained, and engaged - Take care of our guests at each stop (pointing out restrooms, grabbing water, allergy needs, etc)

What We Do For You: - Work around your schedule - Seek feedback from you on how we can improve - Provide a low stress, enjoyable work environment - Provide scripts, supplies, and support to make sure you have a fantastic tour!

Pay:

- $25/hr, plus 100% of tips

- $25 bonus every 10 tours

- Hourly Rate will be increased by $5/hour for memorizing & running multiple tour route

- Maximum possible earnings is $35/hour for running 3 tours, about 28 hours per week ($51k annually base pay, not including tips and tour/review bonuses).

- $10 bonus for every 5-star review that mentions you by name

Schedule: - Each tour lasts 3 hours

- Packing bags, prepping supplies etc takes about 30 minutes of prep before tours

- Tours are offered to guides on a rolling basis, typically several weeks in advance (and never later than 24 hours)

- Various tours run from Wednesday to Saturday, both evenings and afternoons. You pick which tours to run based on your availability.

Supplemental pay types: - Tips. Tips vary but we typically see around 10-20% from about half the parties on our 12-person tours

- $25 bonus every 10 tours

- $10 bonus for every 5-star review that mentions you by name

COVID-19 considerations:

You may mask during your tour at your discretion. Hand sanitizer is provided and required between stops. Guides must be vaccinated, and in communication with us about any symptoms and/or exposure they experience.
