Please join our side-event to the U.N. General Assembly’s High-Level Meeting on Universal Health Coverage (UHC) on September 21, 2023, during lunch break. This event is co-convened by Africa Japan Forum and APCASO.

This panel discussion will address systemic barriers to accessing services among migrant workers as a major gap in high-level discussions and policies around UHC. The panel session will include perspectives and key asks from representatives of migrant community networks, academia and civil society.

Migrant workers must not be left behind in pursuits of UHC and pandemic preparedness. Building on lessons from the pandemic, health policies at national, regional and global levels must be migrant-inclusive and address the needs and vulnerabilities of migrants.
