This form collects the necessary information to enroll your student with the Edgewater Crew Summer Rowing Camp sponsored by Orlando Rowing Association (ORA) for the summer of 2024. The registrant must be entering the 6th-9th grades for the 2024-2025 school year. No experience necessary; all levels of experience are welcome!
Crew is a fun way for kids to learn teamwork, dedication, discipline and dependability while developing lasting friendships, spending time outdoors on the water, and being physically active. This is a great way to get to know kids your age in the community.
What happens at camp? Your kids will learn about rowing. They will learn on land and then move to get into boats on the water. Play additional fun games; like frisbee.
Registration of your rower for the Edgewater Crew Summer Rowing Camp is not complete until the session fee has been paid and recorded by the ORA Treasurer.
Summer Session Location
- Edgewater Crew boathouse located at Lake Fairview Park
- 2200 Lee Road, Orlando FL 32810
Session Time
- 8am-12pm on Monday-Thursday
- Session 1 - June 17-27
- Session 2 - July 8-18
Fees
- $300 for one session
- $550 for both sessions
- siblings receive a $25 discount
What to Wear
- Close-fitting shorts and t-shirts/tank tops - loose fitting clothes can get caught in oars and moving seats
- Water-friendly shoes such as slides or crocs are needed for the dock which gets very hot in the sun
- Sneakers and socks are needed for land workouts
What to Bring
- Hydration - water bottle filled with ice water, AND an electrolyte drink such as Gatorade or Propel (this Gatorade squeezable is the best water bottle for the boat)
- Food - a healthy snack
- Sun protection - sunscreen, hat, sunglasses
- Towel
- Gear bag such as a backpack or drawstring bag

All athletes will take a swim test in the first week of practice.
