We expect our volunteers to attend orientation and to sign a Code of Conduct. We do not have a minimum overall time commitment but we do expect you to be available for at least one three-hour shift, and to arrive fifteen to thirty minutes before your shift begins. We also expect you to notify the Volunteer Coordinator immediately if you need to cancel a shift.
We offer you the opportunity to be involved with Northern Ontario's premiere literary festival. You become part of a volunteer community and meet new friends. While you are on shift during the annual festival, you have access to our Volunteer Lounge with refreshments and a place to relax. You also have access to rush seating at our regular onstage events – if there are seats available just before showtime, you may attend free of charge. We have a celebration especially for volunteers after the Festival, and a volunteer appreciation package.
If you are asked to be a volunteer with the Festival, you will be required to attend a one hour. Training is mandatory for all volunteers. For those who are unable to meet in person, accommodations may be made.
