2022 - 2023 Calendar Input Needed
`The 2022-2023 Calendar Committee was asked to reconvene to consider requests made by the Cumberland County Principals and Assistant Principals Association (CCPAPA) and the Cumberland County Association of Educators (CCAE).  CCAPAP requested consideration for early release days to be added to the calendar to allow teachers uninterrupted time to complete modules associated with LETRS and to have additional planning time.  CCAE requested consideration to add an additional optional work day to February and an additional optional work day to March.  In consideration of these requests, the Calendar Committee determined we should get input from a broader scope of educators and parents in the Cumberland County School District.  
The survey will close on Wednesday, May 18 at noon.

CONSIDERATION #1 - The current calendar has an early release day on the last day of the first semester (Tuesday, December 20) and on the last day of school (Friday, May 26).  The current calendar has an optional work day during the months of August (prior to students' arrival), October, November (2), January (2), February, March, and June (after students' departure).  Keeping the current calendar will keep the last day for students on Friday, May 26, which is the Friday before Memorial Day on Monday, May 29. The current 2022-2023 calendar is attached.

CONSIDERATION #2 -  Adding 2 hour Early Release days for students to allow planning and critical work time for instructional staff.  The modified calendar with the addition of Early Release dates is attached. This modification alone changes the last day for students from Friday, May 26 to Wednesday, May 31.  Do you agree or disagree?
