Dear hiker friends,
On October 1st, you'll have a chance to go hiking and enjoy a view of one of the biggest Glaciers in Europe! š ESN Lausanne is taking you to the Valais to enjoy a hike near Bettmeralp with an amazing view of the Aletsch Glacier. Don't forget your best hiking shoes, a warm coat and join us to discover these amazing landscapes.
ā§ The hikeš: itās about 12 km, with an elevation of 600 m and takes 4 hours 30 minutes. Be sure to be comfortable with these conditions! Note that we will walk
aroundĀ the glacier and not on it!
We will hike for a couple of hours and then stop for a picnic lunch with a view on the glacier!š Then we will come back to Bettmeralp and take the train back to arrive in Lausanne at 10:10 pm.
Donāt forget to bring your
hiking shoes,Ā
lunch, some snacks,
water and
dress up appropriately because it will be cold up there.Ā
As winter is coming, there is a chance of snow up there ā(~2000 m). We know that you are tough hikers but if there is too much snow we might have to go hiking somewhere lower in the mountains. If the weather is too bad there is also a possibility that the hike is cancelled or postponed. We will keep you updated on the weather conditions.
