We invite artists to take part in the 10th Days of Contemporary Art (DOCA) International Festival.

Topic of the festival: Sandbox Manual

Organisers of the festival offer participants to approach modern art through a game this year:

«We agree with Marcel Duchamp that art is a game between all people of all times». And game is a mutual language and communication that creates «relationship space» through a creative dialogue between artists, art, and a spectator.

Most art pieces will be created specifically for the festival.

We're curious to look at a game as an aesthetic of interaction and various cultural experience.

We welcome you to explore the phenomenon of game as a paradoxical connection of rational and irrational in an expanded field of art».

Main program events will take place in the Institute for the Humanities and Information Technologies (IGUMO) on April 22-23, 2023.

We invite to participate:

‒ artists that work with various media (painting, graphics, installation, sculpture, photography, video art, media art and performance) to participate in the main program of the festival;

‒ musicians to become a part of the musical program of the festival;

‒ artists, photographers, musicians, designers for workshops and master classes;

‒ speakers and educational institutions whose scientific and creative work is related to the topic of the festival.

Organisers of the festival will take care of the logistics and installation. Budget for the projects implementation is not provided.

Artists have five floors of the Institute at their disposal: halls, foyers, and other rooms.

Applications are going to be accepted until March 24, 2023 inclusive.
