Global Governance Seminar - Economic Sanction against Russia
We are pleased to announce a joint seminar organized by Kyushu University, Toyo University, and Seoul National University. The three universities will hold a lecture series titled New World Order: New Governance after/with COVID19 and the 2022 Ukraine Crisis. This seminar in December is part of the Lecture Series and will deal with the EU's economic sanctions against Russia.

Abstract
In this presentation, I analyzed the EU's economic sanctions against Russia in response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine, from the first to the eighth round, and pointed out that this invasion has the potential to transform global governance based on the postwar Western order.

Akira Ichikawa is a Professor, Faculty of Global and Regional Studies, and Director, Center for Global Innovation Studies, Toyo University.  He graduated from the Faculty of Policy Studies at Keio University and completed Ph.D. in Policy and Media Studies. After working as a researcher at Tokyo Institute of Technology and as an Associate Professor at the Institute of Industrial Research, Kwansei Gakuin University, he was appointed to his current position in April 2020. He specializes in EU politics, global governance, and international relations.
