Pathways To Learning a nonprofit providing programing to various residential outdoor facilities is offering these internship programs.  Its mission is to provide an environment that fosters positive relationships, growth, and encouragement.  It will create outdoor based experiences that will sustain, enrich each youth’s physical and mental well-being. These experiences recognize that being outdoors creates valuable opportunities for youth to grow physically, emotionally, academically and socially.  It provides these opportunities at three different residential camps as well as in the city.   In 2019 we will serve 13,000 youth many who are underserved.  The following are the various intern opportunities.

Tonto Creek Camp is owned by ASU and situated in the Tonto National Forest eighteen miles outside of Payson AZ. There are many streams and springs.   Recently a $2.5 MM turf field was added.   Chauncey Ranch is twenty five miles from Prescott Valley in the foothills of the Bradshaw Mountains. It is located on 5,000 acres and has the amenities of a camp (zip line, archery, ponds and horses).   At this location we will offer horticulture, equestrian and animal therapy.

These year-round internship programs are designed for those who are committed to self-development, leadership, impacting our culture, and desire to join our staff.  After completing this program, it is expected that he/she should be able to enter the workforce as a culture influencer, leader among peers, and with a high emotional intelligence.
In addition to the invaluable life experience, interns will be paid a monthly stipend, room and board. Interns serve in many different areas; Administration, Adventure Activities, Outdoor Activities, Camp Operations, Marketing, etc. (ropes course, team building, hiking, etc.). Additionally, each intern will work as a team leader in areas that reflect their skills, gifts and personality.

Our focus is to serve the underserved. If brought onto the team you should have a missional mindset to serve underserved as well!

Our internship programs are a life-changing experience; a time where each intern grows personally, relationally, professionally, coming away more energized and prepared for a lifetime of service. In addition, interns experience many facets of the camping world and can gauge if they see it as a career.

We are committed to making the year-round internship both challenging and rewarding.  Much will be asked and much will be given as we carry out our mission while building servant leaders.

The interns’ responsibilities and expectations will build through the school year and culminate in the summer with leadership opportunities among the summer staff.
Interns will be challenged to look beyond themselves and serve each other, guest groups and our mission.
We ask each intern to serve by giving their time, energy and resources for the duration of the internship. The full-time camp staff also desire to give back by generously giving time, energy, grace, resources and opportunities to each intern.
