Servant Leader Internship Position (SLI)
The Hannah Project is hiring Servant-Leader Interns (SLI’s) for our six-week CDF Freedom Schools® summer literacy program. The Hannah Project is an education and culture not for profit organization in Marin City, California with a mission to partner with families and communities to break the cycle of social, material and spiritual poverty.  
 
College-age young people and recent college graduates play a key role in the CDF Freedom Schools® program as Servant Leader interns. Servant Leaders are responsible for the front-line care and supervision of the summer program participants. We are looking for passionate and energetic college age interns committed to serving children and their families in Marin City. Ideal candidates are motivated individuals dedicated to dismantling educational disparities on a local and national scale and have a passion for youth development.

The Servant Leader Intern summer position is a full time - 40 hour a week position for 6 weeks. Servant Leader Interns are trained to facilitate the Freedom School evidenced based, summer curriculum. SLI's will facilitate a classroom of 10 children in literacy and literacy activities. The program will empower not only scholars but also SLI's to believe in their ability and responsibility to make a difference in their community, while instilling in them a love of reading, writing, and comprehension. SLI's will gain a rich experience while working with children and families of diverse populations. This position is ideal for people interested in teaching, social workers, and community work.

Minimum requirements:

Must have completed at least two years of college in good academic standing.
Ability to motivate others and work as part of an intergenerational team.
Solid commitment to the success and well-being of children.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Exhibit positive behavior and attitude, modeling a mature and professional demeanor 6-week program

$17.00 -$ 22.00 per hour depending on experience
$100/day for training/planning
