VDC's Dancing Upon a Dream              Student Permission Form
All students are invited and encouraged to participate in VDC’s Dancing Upon a Dream on Saturday, June 17, 2023. 

Participation, however, is not mandatory.

After reviewing the information in the newsletter, please decide whether participation is right for you and your child(ren). Please submit separate forms for each student. The newsletter can be viewed here.

I have read the Dancing Upon a Dream newsletter and understand the rehearsal and performance schedules outlined therein. I also understand that in order to participate, my child must attend dress rehearsal at the Hylton Performing Arts Center on Friday, June 16. Dress rehearsal for Cast A (12:00 show) is from 3:30-6:00 p.m. Dress rehearsal for Cast B (5:00 show) is from 6:30-9:00 p.m. I understand that dress rehearsal is mandatory.

I further understand that my child is to arrive at the Hylton Performing Arts Center at least 30 minutes before the beginning of the scheduled performance on Saturday, June 17 (11:30 for the 12:00 p.m. show and 4:30 for the 5:00 p.m. show). Due to safety concerns, I understand that all participating students will be required to remain backstage throughout the entire performance and that I may not pick my child up from backstage before the finale. I also understand that only VDC staff, dancers and volunteer parents will be allowed in the backstage area.

I understand that the Hylton Performing Arts Center does not currently have any COVID restrictions in place. I understand that my dancer and all audience members must comply with the Hylton policies that are in place at the time of the dress rehearsals and performances. I understand that no refunds will be given as a result of any such policies.

I understand that the recital participation fee includes the recital costume (1st costume included; additional costumes charged separately), tights, hair accessories, any necessary props, recital t-shirt with this season’s exclusive design on the front and the complete cast list on the back, in-studio rehearsal, dress rehearsal, and a digital download of the recordings of both performances. I understand that the recital participation fee is non-refundable with no exceptions.

Finally, I understand that tuition is divided into 10 equal payments throughout the dance season (September through June) and that full tuition will be charged for the month of June, 2023. I understand that my child will not receive a costume and will not be allowed to participate in the performance until the recital participation fee and tuition are paid in full.
