2 physical assaults OR 1 extended assault PLUS 2 forms of psychological maltreatment RESULTING IN prolonged suffering, permanent disfigurement/dysfunction or death.
Non War Related Childhood Torture, Definition 2:
The perpetrator utilized their control over my/our necessities of life (breathing, eating, drinking, movement, sleep, temperature, hygiene, healthcare, social connection) in order to obtain information, compliance, or some other desired behavioral outcome, and/or for their own pleasure, profit, or other gains.
In both cases, at least one episode of torture must have occurred in the United States or its territories before the age of 18, and the torture must not have occurred as a result of a recognized national or international conflict. *
