The Foreign Affairs Committee of The Association of Hebrew Writers in Israel expresses its utter disappointment regarding the open letter of the undersigned artists and writers based in the EU, the UK, and North America, as published in the London Review of Books.
This is the horrifying reality. On October 7, 2023, Hamas deliberately butchered, murdered, raped, tortured and kidnapped hundreds and hundreds of Israeli civilians including babies, children, holocaust survivors and critically ill. Israel is still bleeding. We are still counting the dead, identifying mutilated bodies. Instead of condemning these horrific crimes against humanity committed by Hamas, a terrorist organization associated with ISIS, these writers have propagated a disgraceful misinformation and reversal of reality.
The Association of Hebrew Writers in Israel calls upon humanitarians to reject with disgust this heartless and false narrative. We implore you to stand with Israel, denounce the heinous crimes committed by Hamas, and join us in demanding the immediate release of all hostages.
Writers, poets, and artists from Israel and around the world are encouraged to join us and express their support for Israel.

Appel urgent pour condamner le Hamas et ses crimes contre l’humanité
Le Comité des affaires étrangères de l’Association des écrivains israéliens en Israël exprime sa déception profonde face au message signé par des artistes et écrivains basés en Europe, en Grande Bretagne et en Amérique du nord, tel qu’il a été publié dans la London Review of Books.
Ceci est une réalité horrifiante. Le 7 Octobre 2023, le Hamas a délibérément commis une boucherie, violé, torturé et kidnappé des centaines de civils israéliens dont des bébés, enfants, rescapés de la Shoah et ainsi que des malades en situation grave. Israël est encore à vif et saigne toujours. Nous continuons à compter les morts, nous essayons d’identifier des corps mutilés. Au lieu de condamner ces actes horribles commis par le Hamas - groupe terroriste associé à Daesh - ces écrivains ont propagé un texte honteux rempli de désinformation et de réalité tordue.
L’Association des écrivains israéliens en Israël appelle les humanistes à dénoncer viscéralement cette fausse et cruelle lecture. Nous vous implorons de soutenir Israël, de dénoncer ces crimes haineux contre l’humanité commis par le Hamas, et de nous rejoindre dans notre demande appelant à la libération immédiate de tous les otages.
Écrivains, poètes et artistes israéliens et du monde entier sont encouragés à nous rejoindre pour exprimer leur soutien à Israël.
