We are inviting illustrators to take part in the Exhibition of International Festival of Book Illustration and visual literature “Морс” 2020. To participate in the Exhibition illustrators need to apply using the form below.
Applications are accepted until July 31st (until 31 July 2020 23:59 Moscow time). All applicants will receive response emails between August 10th and August 14th. Please note that the Festival team reserves the right to not further comment refusals to participate. We appreciate your understanding!
To take part in the Exhibition, you will need to pay a Participation fee.
If you receive an email confirming that your application has been accepted, please be prepared to pay the fee within 3 working days from receiving the confirmation. In case of failure to pay the fee within the specified period, the application will be considered canceled.
This year we introduce a single participation fee that does not depend on the number of exhibited artworks. We have also decided to discontinue the use of frames — instead, an individual board (1x1.5m) made of reboard (rigid paperboard) with cut-out windows for prints will be crafted for each participant. The boards will then be hung upon exhibition panels. A possible number of artworks to be exhibited is between 2 and 10 pieces, which allows to exhibit between 1 and 3 series of artworks by each illustrator.
Participation fee is €75, which includes:
— rent of 1 running meter of the exhibition stand for 4 Festival days (1 width x 2.5 height);
— making and installing of the exhibition board;
— printing the artworks;
— a spread in the Catalogue;
— a printed copy of the Catalogue;
— an individual non-transferable entrance ticket for all 4 days of the Festival;
— participant certificate.
Layouts of each illustrator’s exhibition space and catalogue spread are curated by the Festival’s team. One participant cannot occupy more than one Exhibition space.
After the end of the festival, on October 25th, between 21:00 and 24:00, each participant may collect their boards with illustrations. The Festival’s team may offer to leave the board with them for further exhibiting purposes, however, this shall be agreed upon individually.
Artworks exhibited at the Festival will be published in a Catalogue along with the creator's name and contact details. Please be warned that the Catalogue may include not all, but only some of each illustrator's works. The Catalogue will also include e-mail address, phone number and any other contact details provided by the artist. Copies of the Catalogue included into the cost of Participant’s fee will be distributed among participants during the course of the Festival at the immediate location of the exhibition. Postal delivery of the Catalogue may be arranged only at the personal expense of the participant.
Copies of the Catalogue will also be distributed to Russian and foreign publishing houses. Moreover, electronic version of the Catalogue will be forwarded to a list of international publishers from our contact base.
Jury will select two winners at the Festival. The winners’ works will be displayed at the Festival's satellite exhibitions next year (2021).
