San Felipe Del Rio CISD 2024-2025 - Elementary STEM Academy Application - Solicitud de la Academia STEM de Primaria

San Felipe Del Rio CISD is dedicated to preparing and inspiring generations of life-long learners to meet the challenges of a global society through critical thinking in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. August 2024, San Felipe Del Rio will continue to offer an E-STEM Program for K-2nd grade students at Ceniza Hills Elementary, Roberto "Bobby" Barrera STEM Magnet, and Dr. Fermin Calderon Elementary schools. Two E-STEM classrooms will be designated for grades K-2 at both Ceniza Hills Elementary and Dr. Fermin Calderon Elementary. Furthermore, Roberto "Bobby" Barrera STEM Magnet will have one elementary STEM classroom for each grade level. The E-STEM Program has an increased focus on engineering through basic design applications and technology that is infused throughout the entire curriculum, and it is aligned with the Texas STEM Education Framework provided by the Texas Education Agency. For E-STEM students in kindergarten through second grade, transfer requests are considered as space allows. Students eligible for the 2024-2025 E-STEM Cohort must be enrolled in the kindergarten grade level for the 2024-2025 school year.

Each school year, the E-STEM Program will welcome a new kindergarten class and expand to accommodate advancing cohorts, gradually extending to cover grades K-5th. Please note that students zoned to attend Ceniza Hills Elementary, Roberto "Bobby" Barrera STEM Magnet, and Dr. Fermin Calderon Elementary schools are not automatically enrolled in the E-STEM Program, and will not continue in the elementary campus during their 6th-grade year.

Application deadline is Friday, May 31, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. In addition to completing the application, attending a parent meeting is required for your child to be considered for the E-STEM Program.   


San Felipe Del Rio CISD se dedica a preparar y inspirar a generaciones de estudiantes de por vida para enfrentar los desafíos de una sociedad global a través del pensamiento crítico en las áreas de ciencia, tecnología, ingeniería y matemáticas. A partir de agosto de 2024, San Felipe Del Río continuará ofreciendo un programa E-STEM para estudiantes de jardín de infantes a segundo grado en las escuelas primarias Ceniza Hills, Roberto "Bobby" Barrera STEM Magnet y Dr. Fermin Calderon. Se designarán dos salónes de E-STEM para los grados K-2 tanto en la Primaria Ceniza Hills como en la Primaria Dr. Fermín Calderón. Además, Roberto "Bobby" Barrera STEM Magnet tendrá un salón de clases STEM de primaria para cada nivel de grado. El Programa E-STEM tiene un mayor enfoque en la ingeniería a través de aplicaciones de diseño básico y tecnología que se infunde en todo el plan de estudios, y está alineado con el Marco Educativo STEM de Texas proporcionado por la Agencia de Educación de Texas.
